Taxonomy
Sincola mexicana was named by Jung (1989). Its type specimen is NMB H 17244, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Acalapa, Minatitlan [Agueguexquite Fm], which is in a Pliocene coastal claystone in the Agueguexquite Formation of Mexico.
