Taxonomy
Planaxis crassilabrum was named by Guppy (1874). Its type specimen is USNM 115492, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil.

It was recombined as Strombina crassilabrum by Woodring (1928); it was recombined as Strombina (Sincola) crassilabrum by Jung (1969); it was recombined as Sincola (Sincola) crassilabrum by Jung (1989).
