Taxonomy
Spirifer bistritzae was named by Schellwien (1900). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Teufelsschlucht bei Neumarktl, which is in an Asselian carbonate limestone in the Dolzanova Soteska Formation of Slovenia.
