Taxonomy
Stewartina ultimata was named by Stevens and Stone (2007). Its type specimen is USNM 531304, a test, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is S-1949, Old Dad Mountain, which is in an Artinskian carbonate limestone in the Bird Spring Formation of California.
