Taxonomy
Parasicanites apertus was named by Leonova (1992). Its type specimen is PIN 4240/26 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Charymdara River, Collection 1150/5, Darvaz Range, which is in an Artinskian marine horizon in the Chelamchin Formation of Tajikistan.
