Taxonomy
Kargalites latus was named by Leonova (1992). Its type specimen is PIN 4240/96 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Siaryk River, sample 1207/23os, which is in an Artinskian marine horizon in the Chelamchin Formation of Tajikistan.
