Taxonomy
Aetheolepis mirabilis was named by Woodward (1895). It is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Talbragar Beds, which is in an Oxfordian/Tithonian lacustrine shale in the Purlawaugh Formation of Australia. It is the type species of Aetheolepis.
