Taxonomy
Caribachlamys jungi was named by Waller (2011). Its type specimen is NMB G17495, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is NMB Loc. 16934 - Rio Gurabo [Gurabo Fm], which is in a Messinian perireef or subreef limestone/siliciclastic in the Rio Gurabo Formation of the Dominican Republic.
