Taxonomy
Mimachlamys blowi was named by Waller (2011). Its type specimen is NMB G17497, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is NMB Loc. 15893 - Rio Gurabo [Cercado Fm], which is in a Tortonian perireef or subreef limestone/siliciclastic in the Cercado Formation of the Dominican Republic.
