Taxonomy
Monodiexodina gigas was named by Shi et al. (2008). Its type specimen is MCC8-7, a test, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Shanmutang Section, middle Dadongchang Formation, which is in a Wordian/Capitanian carbonate limestone in the Dadongchang Formation of China.
