Taxonomy
Calygirtyoceras confusionense was named by Korn and Titus (2011). It is not extant. Its type locality is Middle Confusion Range, section 2, bed 9, which is in an Asbian offshore ramp shale/limestone in the Chainman Formation of Utah.
