Prolecanites lateseptatum was named by Frech (1902). It is not extant.

It was synonymized subjectively with Pharciceras tridens by Göddertz (1987); it was recombined as Lunupharciceras lateseptatum by Korn and Klug (2002); it was recombined as Pharciceras lateseptatum by Bockwinkel et al. (2009), Bockwinkel et al. (2013), Bockwinkel et al. (2015).
