Taxonomy
Cancellaria (Hertleinia) miranda was named by Jung and Petit (1990). Its type specimen is NMB H 17319, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is NMB Loc. 15903 - Río Gurabo [Cercado Fm], which is in a Tortonian marine horizon in the Cercado Formation of the Dominican Republic.
It was recombined as Hertleinia miranda by Landau et al. (2012).
