Cancellaria corrugata was named by Hinds (1843) [DISTRIBUTION: Recent; Panama.]. It is extant. It is the type species of Massyla.

It was recombined as Cancellaria (Massyla) corrugata by Olsson (1964) and Landau et al. (2007); it was recombined as Pyruclia corrugata by Landau and Marques da Silva (2010); it was recombined as Massyla corrugata by Landau et al. (2012) and Landau et al. (2012).
