Quetzalichthys perrilliatae
Taxonomy
Quetzalichthys perrilliatae was named by Alvarado-Ortega and Espinosa-Arrubarrena (2008). Its type specimen is IGM 8592, a skeleton, and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Site IGM-2432, Tlayúa Quarry, which is in an Albian/Albian lagoonal/restricted shallow subtidal lime mudstone in the Tlayúa Formation of Mexico. It is the type species of Quetzalichthys.
