Taxonomy
Tornoceras (Tornoceras) clausum was named by Glenister (1958). Its type specimen is CPC 1756, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is BMR RS 190, Bugle Gap, which is in a Frasnian marine horizon in the Virgin Hills Formation of Australia.

It was recombined as Linguatornoceras clausum by Becker et al. (2000), Becker and House (2000), Korn and Klug (2002), Woroncowa-Marcinowska (2006) and Söte et al. (2021).
