Piptadenioxylon paraexcelsa
Taxonomy
Piptadenioxylon paraexcelsa was named by Franco and Brea (2008). It is considered to be a form taxon. Its type specimen is PALBO 23. PALBOmic 523, a plant debris (log), and it is a 3D fossil preserving soft parts. Its type locality is Nivel Fosilifero 1, Toma Vieja, Paraná, which is in a Miocene terrestrial siltstone in the Paraná Formation of Argentina. It is the type species of Piptadenioxylon.
