Reptomultisparsa was named by d'Orbigny (1852) [Sepkoski's age data: Tr Nori R Sepkoski's reference number: 1241]. It is extant.

It was assigned to Diastoporidae by Bassler (1953); to Cyclostomata by Sepkoski (2002); and to Multisparsidae by Hara and Taylor (2009), Zatoń and Taylor (2010), Zatoń et al. (2013), Martha et al. (2019).
