Taxonomy
Maoritrigonia chekhovi was named by Bychkov (1985). Its type specimen is SVPGO 46/858 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Kenkereveem River, Kenkeren Ridge, Koryak (lower-middle Norian), which is in a Lacian/Alaunian carbonate limestone in the Russian Federation.
