Gurvanichthys mongoliensis
Taxonomy
Gurvanichthys mongoliensis was named by Jakovlev (1986). Its type specimen is PIN 3281/1, a skeleton, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Gurvan-Ereny-Nuruu (Outcrop 236/29), which is in an Aptian lacustrine - large shale/sandstone in the Gurvan-Eren Formation of Mongolia. It is the type species of Gurvanichthys.
