Taxonomy
Gymnites procerus was named by Tozer (1994). Its type specimen is GSC 28376 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is GSC 68226, Milepost 375, Alaska Highway, which is in an Aegean marine siliciclastic in the Toad Formation of Canada.
