Taxonomy
Clionitites laevis was named by Tozer (1994). Its type specimen is GSC 28699 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is GSC 68180, Mount McLearn, which is in a Lacian marine siliciclastic in the Baldonnel Formation of Canada.
