Taxonomy
Helictites pacalis was named by Tozer (1994). Its type specimen is GSC 28925 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Black Bear Ridge (GSC 9729), which is in the Alaunian of horizon the Pardonet Formation Canada.
