Anomalotoechus was named by Duncan (1939) [Sepkoski's age data: S Ldov D Fame Sepkoski's reference number: 544,742,1241]. It is not extant.

It was assigned to Atactotoechidae by Bassler (1953); and to Trepostomida by Sepkoski (2002).
