Taxonomy
Griesbachites auctoris was named by Tozer (1994). Its type specimen is GSC 32176 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is GSC 64628, Pardonet Hill, which is in a Tuvalian marine siliciclastic in the Pardonet Formation of Canada.
