Taxonomy
Phormedites transiens was named by Tozer (1994). Its type specimen is GSC 71008 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is GSC 98542, Childerhose Coulee, which is in an Alaunian marine siliciclastic in the Pardonet Formation of Canada.
