Taxonomy
Bakevellia (Maizuria) gebaliana was named by Skwarko (1967). Its type specimen is CPC 5061, a valve (left valve), and it is a mold. Its type locality is H176, 3 miles west of Gebal, which is in a Carnian marine siliciclastic in the Jimi Formation of Papua New Guinea.
