Taxonomy
Myophoria alta was named by Gabb (1864). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Dun Glen, near the Auld Lang Syne mine, Sierra District, which is in an Anisian carbonate limestone in Nevada.
It was recombined as Guineana alta by Skwarko (1967).
