Bathysuchus megarhinus
Taxonomy
Teleosaurus megarhinus was named by Hulke (1871). Its type specimen is BMNH 43086, a partial skull, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Kimmeridge Bay, Mansel collection, which is in a Kimmeridgian marine mudstone in the Kimmeridge Clay Formation of the United Kingdom.
It was recombined as Steneosaurus megarhinus by Bronzati et al. (2012), Young and Steel (2013); it was recombined as Bathysuchus megarhinus by Foffa et al. (2019).
