Craspedochelys jaccardi
Taxonomy
Emys jaccardi was named by Pictet (1860). Its type specimen is Geolog. Inst. der Universitat Neuchatel and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is 15 km north of Neuchâtel, route de La Chauds-de-Fonds, which is in a Tithonian marine horizon in the Virgulien superieur Formation of Switzerland.
It was recombined as Plesiochelys jaccardi by Rütimeyer (1873), Bräm (1965); it was synonymized subjectively with Plesiochelys etalloni by Gaffney (1975); it was recombined as Craspedochelys jaccardi by Antunes et al. (1988), Lapparent de Broin et al. (1996), Anquetin et al. (2014), Anquetin et al. (2017).
