Diagnosis

---|---|---|
T. L. Adams 2013 | A neosuchian crocodyliform differing from other known neosuchians in having the following combination of characters: the posterior ramus of the jugal beneath the infratemporal fenestra is rod-shaped; an elongate anterolateral process of the postorbital; the base of the postorbital process of jugal is directed dorsally; the anterior median process of the frontal extends anterior to the tip of the prefrontal; the jugal does not extend anterior to the anterior margin of the orbit; and cranial nerves IX–XI pass through a common large foramen vagi in the otoccipital. It differs from longirostrine taxa in having a platyrostral rostrum, enlarged maxillary teeth, and a festooned tooth row. An additional feature not scored for in the phylogenetic analysis is an extensive prefrontal contribution to the orbital margin with the frontal restricted to the posteromedial corner of the orbit. |
