Enallopora was named by d'Orbigny (1849) [Sepkoski's age data: O Llvi O Ashg-u Sepkoski's reference number: 1083,1116].

It was assigned to Fenestellidae by Bassler (1953); to Fenestrata by Sepkoski (2002); and to Chasmatoporidae by Suttner and Ernst (2007).
