Taxonomy
Nautilus mingshanensis was named by Kayser (1883). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Mingshan Coalfield, Loping Area, which is in a Lopingian carbonate limestone in China.
It was recombined as Tainoceras mingshanense by Frech (1911), Korn and Ghaderi (2025).
