Taxonomy
Ceratodus rectangularis was named by Linck (1936). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Ochsenbach, Ceratodus quarry, Mutzig Forest, which is in a Norian fluvial-lacustrine sandstone in the Löwenstein Formation of Germany.
