Taxonomy
Plesiolacerta eratosthenesi was named by Cernansky and Augé (2013). Its type specimen is SMNS 58203.1, a partial skull (Incomplete parietal lacking the anterior portion), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Herrlingen 8, which is in a MP 28 fissure fill limestone in Germany.
