Taxonomy
Holcoteuthis psilonoti was named by Schwegler (1939). Its type specimen is GPIT 1785/6 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is West side of Steinenbergs in Nürtingen, which is in a Liasicus marine claystone in Germany.
It was recombined as Schwegleria psilonoti by Schlegelmilch (1996).
