Taxonomy
Paraspidites obesus was named by Brühwiler and Bucher (2012). Its type specimen is PIMUZ 28156 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Nammal Nala Nam532, Salt Range, which is in a Smithian offshore marl in the Ceratite Marls Formation of Pakistan.
