Taxonomy
Koninckodonta auriculata was named by Vörös (2002). Its type specimen is NS132/22 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Slumped bed, western slope of Colle Vecchio, Tivoli, which is in a Pliensbachian marine limestone/marl in the Corniola Formation of Italy.
