Taxonomy
Pseudoberyx syriacus was named by Pictet and Humbert (1866). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Hakel (Humbert collection), which is in a Cenomanian lagoonal/restricted shallow subtidal carbonate in Lebanon.
