Taxonomy
Leptochondria nuetzeli was named by Hautmann et al. (2013). Its type specimen is USNM 543490 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Beaver Dam Mountains BM1, Bed 7a, which is in a Spathian carbonate limestone in the Moenkopi Formation of Utah.
