Taxonomy
Sceloporus robustus was named by Twente (1952). Its type specimen is UMMP 27665, a mandible (left dentary), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Fox Canyon, which is in a Blancan terrestrial horizon in the Rexroad Formation of Kansas.
