Gronausaurus wegneri
Taxonomy
Gronausaurus wegneri was named by Hampe (2013). Its type specimen is GMM-A3B.2, a partial skeleton (Incomplete skeleton containing three isolated teeth, jaw and skull roof fragments, braincase, 6 cervical, 4 pectoral, 16 dorsal, 4 sacral, and 22 caudal vertebr), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Gerdemann clay pit, Gronau, which is in a Berriasian estuary/bay shale/claystone in the Bückeberg Formation of Germany. It is the type species of Gronausaurus.
