Anabolotreta was named by Rowell and Henderson (1978) [Sepkoski's age data: Cm uMid-u Cm Dres-l Sepkoski's reference number: 569]. It is not extant.

It was assigned to Acrotretidae by Williams et al. (2000); and to Acrotretida by Sepkoski (2002).
