Isocrania was named by Jaekel (1902) [Sepkoski's age data: K Turo-u T Dani-l Sepkoski's reference number: 1,8,538]. It is not extant.

It was assigned to Craniidae by Williams et al. (2000); and to Acrotretida by Sepkoski (2002).
