Microdon penalvai
Taxonomy
Microdon penalvai was named by Silva Santos (1970). It is not extant. Its type specimen is 918-P, DGM DNPM, a partial skeleton (head and mandible). Its type locality is Chapada do Araripe [Romualdo Fm.] (general), which is in an Aptian lagoonal/restricted shallow subtidal shale in the Romualdo Formation of Brazil.
It was recombined as Neoproscinetes penalvai by De Figueiredo and Silva Santos (1991), Poyato-Ariza and Wenz (2002).
