Taxonomy
Nautilus triadicus was named by von Mojsisovics (1873).

It was recombined as Clydonautilus (Proclydonautilus) triadicus by von Mojsisovics (1902); it was recombined as Proclydonautilus triadicus by Smith (1904), Hyatt and Smith (1905), Smith (1927), Kummel (1953) and Schastlivtseva (1988).
