Proarcestes nevadanus

Taxonomy
Joannites nevadanus was named by Hyatt and Smith (1905). Its type specimen is MCZ 3909 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Volcano (Pilot Mountains), which is in a Lacian marine limestone in the Luning Formation of Nevada.

It was recombined as Arcestes (Proarcestes) nevadanus by Smith (1914); it was recombined as Proarcestes nevadanus by Clapham (2015).
