Taxonomy
Unionvillites asseretoi was named by Silberling and Nichols (1982). Its type specimen is USNM 248653 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is USGS M2829, Coyote Canyon, North Humboldt Range, which is in a Bithynian offshore limestone/siltstone in the Prida Formation of Nevada.
