Taxonomy

Micromitra was named by Meek (1873) [Sepkoski's age data: Cm Tomm-l Cm Fran-l Sepkoski's reference number: 10,21,569,885]. It is not extant. Its type is Micromitra taurina.

It was assigned to Paterinidae by Williams et al. (2000); and to Paterinida by Bengtson (1992), Sepkoski (2002).

Iphidella was named by Walcott (1905). It is not extant.

It was reranked as Micromitra (Iphidella) by Walcott (1908), Walcott (1912); it was synonymized subjectively with Micromitra by Williams et al. (2000).

It was assigned to Brachiopoda by Walcott (1905); and to Micromitra by Walcott (1908), Walcott (1912).
Walcottina was named by Cobbold (1921) [Sepkoski's age data: Cm Atda-l Sepkoski's reference number: 580,885].

It was synonymized subjectively with Micromitra by Williams et al. (2000).

It was assigned to Paterinida by Bengtson (1992), Sepkoski (2002).
