Purussaurus mirandai
Taxonomy
Purussaurus mirandai was named by Aguilera et al. (2006). Its type specimen is UNEFM-CIAAP-1369, a partial skeleton (Complete skull with associated mandibles, femur and ischium), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is El Hatillo, which is in a Tortonian fluvial-deltaic claystone/sandstone in the Urumaco Formation of Venezuela.
